July 6-7, 2011

As a prelude to the 2011 29er PCCs and I-14 Gorge Regatta, CGRA is pleased to host the Skiff Performance Clinic for I-14s & 29ers. This is a unique opportunity to tune up with some of the world's best skiff sailors in one of the world's most spectacular sailing venues!

Coaching Staff

CGRA is pleased to have Max Fraser as our Head Coach for the Skiff Clinic.  Max is a three time 29er class North American Champion and a two winner of both the 29er East Coast Gran Prix Series and the West Coast Gran Prix Series.  Max has sailed in 6 29er world championships in England, Argentina, Australia, Italy, and the Bahamas; finishing as high as fifth.

In addition to being an accomplished 29er sailor, Max is an experienced coach.  This year marks the third year Max is a Level 1 US Sailing Instructor.  During this time he has served as Head Coach for Santa Cruz Yacht Club’s Junior Sailing Program.   He is also actively coaching 29er sailors at every level of the class throughout the United States.   This summer he will coach teams in New York, Boston, Newport, Santa Cruz, San Francisco and, of course, the Gorge.  He will also be coaching sailors at the ISAF Youth World Qualifiers and the US Youth Champs at Newport

The goal of the Skiff Performance Clinic is to provide each participant with a clear action plan for improved performance. The emphasis will be on tuning, testing, and boat handling, utilizing both onshore chalk talks and on-the-water drills and short races.
