2011 WIND Youth Regatta

A Northwest Youth Racing Circuit Regatta
July 16-17, 2011

CGRA is pleased to welcome northwest youth sailors to the 2011 WIND Youth Regatta. This regatta is the third event on the 2011 Northwest Youth Racing Circuit and will also serve as the Area L Semi-Fnals for the 2011 Chubb US Sailing Junior Championships for the Smythe Trophy (Laser Radial class).

The WIND Youth Regatta will be preceded by the WIND Youth Clinic with coaches Luke Lawrence, Sean Kelly, and Ben Glass, July 12-14, climaxing an exciting week of youth sailing in the Gorge. You don't want to miss this one!

Classes

Classes invited are Laser, Laser Radial (Smythe), Laser 4.7, Vanguard 15, Club 420, and 29er.

Eligibility

The WIND Youth Regatta is open to all competitors 18 years of age and under, except that competitors entering the Smythe Semi-Finals must have reached their 13th birthday but not their 19th birthday during the 2011 year, must be members of US Sailing, and must be members of a Local Sailing Organization (LSO) that is a member of its Regional Sailing Association (RSA) and US Sailing (please refer to complete conditions of entry at US SAILING).

Registration & Fees:

Entry fee: $45 for singlehanded, $65 for doublehanded entries received before July 1, 2011. Entry fee includes lunch each day, Saturday evening dinner and a regatta T-shirt.
Late Registration Fee: After July 1, 2011, $55 for singlehanded and $75 for doublehanded
US Sailing Member: $5.00 discount
Extra Meals:  Lunches $5.00 each, Dinners $10.00 each

Cascade Locks is located in the heart of the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, 45 minutes east of Portland International Airport on Interstate 84. Cascade Locks and surrounding communities have a wide range of accommodations from camping to four-star resort hotels (see visitor information).
