Gorge Laser Performance Clinic

with Brendan Casey
July 13-15, 2009

The Gorge Laser Performance Clinic with Australian Laser ace Brendan Casey is a terrific opportunity for experienced Laser sailors to take your game to the next level. The clinic is open to sailors over 18*who have good boat handling skills and are comfortable in winds up to 25 knots. Enrollment is limited to 25 to ensure personal attention to every participant. Full rigs and Radials are both welcome.

Head Coach: Brendan Casey

Brendan is a two-time Laser Radial World Champion and has been a top international competitor and coach in the Laser class for more than a decade. He lives in Brisbane, Australia, where he is founder and CEO of Sail Equipment Australia, a leading manufacturer of high performance clothing for dinghy sailors.

Program

The goal of the Gorge Laser Performance Clinic is to provide each participant with a clear action plan for improved performance in his or her Laser racing. Special emphasis will be placed on downwind technique in big wind and waves, a condition for which the Gorge is particularly suited! The program will combine onshore chalk talks and video presentations with on-the-water drills and short races, culminating with a scenic and spectacular 18-mile run from Cascade Locks to Hood River.

Cost:

Clinic fee is $350, which includes coaching, lunch each day, after-sailing snacks & beverages, and a take-home video DVD. Early Registration Discount: Registrations received by June 22nd will receive a $25 discount.

New charter boats (inc. spars and blades) are available for $150 per day or $550 for a 4-day package (come early, stay late for an extra day of fantastic Gorge sailing!).
