About our Lessons
What to Bring:
Youth Beginner/Intermediate Lessons
Introductory/Intermediate youth sailors will learn rigging, boat handling, safety, and more. These two part lesson is designed to go over all aspects of safely launching and sailing CGRA’s O’Pen Bic and RS Feva sailboats. With the lighter evening winds all skill levels can easily build confidence on the water from our US Sailing certified instructors.
What to bring/requirements:Swimsuit, towel, and shoes to get wet. Students should be able to swim 25 yards. Your parent or guardian to sign the Liability Waiver.
Schedule:Lessons are taught Mon & Wed evenings (other times available). Classes are formed to group sailors of similar skill level. Group or family lessons can be arranged. Select your lesson here.
Equipment:No equipment needed, lifejackets will be provided.
Scholarships:Cascade Locks residents are eligible for free lessons thanks to generous local sponsors. Other scholarships are available upon request for school lunch eligible kids. Click here for for more information on scholarships. We teach free Lessons to Cascade Locks residents most Sunday's at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. You must register before this lesson by registering either at Community Sailing or send us an email.
