About our Lessons
What to Bring:
Intermediate / Advanced Lessons
Intermediate/Advanced sailors will learn advanced boat handling (docking, capsize recovery, jibing, roll-tacking). These lessons are taught in CGRA’s O’Pen Bics, Lasers and RS Feva sailboats. The stronger afternoon winds will improve your skill and confidence with the help of US Sailing certified instructors.
Schedule:Lessons are taught in the late afternoons and evenings. (other times available). Classes are formed to group sailors of similar skill level. Group or family lessons can be arranged.
What to bring/requirements:Swimsuit, towel, and shoes to get wet. Students should be able to swim 25 yards.
Equipment:No equipment needed, lifejackets will be provided.
Scholarships:Cascade Locks residents are eligible for free lessons thanks to generous local sponsors. Other scholarships are available upon request for school lunch eligible kids. Click here for for more information on scholarships cgra.org/lessons/scholarships We teach free Lessons to Cascade Locks residents most Sunday's at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. You must register before this lesson by registering either at Community Sailing or send us an email.
